Did You Know? Amen Corner refers to a trio of holes at Augusta National Golf Club - Holes 11, 12 and 13 that are known as the most difficult section of the course that hosts the Masters Tournament each year. Golfers are told to say their prayers, and hope for the best, when facing these iconic holes. Just one more iconic tradition of The Masters Tournament and ANGC.
The Masters Tournament
Steeped in history and tradition, the Masters Tournament is one of the most famous golf competitions in the world and is the first golf major of the year. Held annually on the grounds of Augusta National Golf Club in Augusta, Georgia, fans from all over the world tune in during the first full week of April to watch top professionals in the sport of golf compete to win the coveted Green Jacket. Founded by legendary golf amateur champion Bobby Jones, along with Clifford Roberts, a NY investment banker, and mutual friend Thomas Barrett, Jr. , Augusta National, or ANGC, was built on the grounds of a former nursery. The nursery grounds have woven themselves into the legacy of the course with abundant flora gracing the sloping greens and framing the famed pristine white clubhouse and buildings. Each hole on the course is named after one of the flowers or trees gracing the property that are painstakingly maintained year-round even though the course is only open to badge holders during the week of the Tournament. MMO Golf attends the famed Tournament yearly to purchase a variety of Masters Tournament merchandise and souvenirs as a shopping service for those who are unable to attend the Tournament in person.
